Welcome to Bethany Kay Photography!!! I am a new photographer to the area. I love to take pictures and enjoy working with people. I am in no way a professional, but I do take pretty good shots!!! I don't have a studio yet, and no props---but I am working on building the business from the beginning with new clients every day! I do not offer any printing services yet, but do give a full DVD package to each customer so they can take the prints and have them done wherever they chose.

Traylor Wedding
In July of 2012 I was able to attend a wedding where my husband was a groomsmen. As a gift for the bride/groom, I made them a movie complete with pictures and videos from the wedding, featuring music from their ceremony as well. It was a beautiful day!
Sackett Wedding
In September of 2012, I was lucky enough to be able to attend the wedding of a very close friend. We practically grew up together, and lived next door to each other our freshman year of high school. I was not the hired photographer for the wedding, but just snapped some pics for her to enjoy. Thought I would share them with you as well!

SHEVER WEDDING

L Turns Seven
L TURNS SEVEN

My daughter L turned 7 in August. So we decided to go out to the local park and take the camera and see what we could come up with. She is such a little poser and had a blast being a model for the afternoon. She loved the attention and we ended up with well over 300 pictures, most of which of course ended up deleted. But out of the 300, I had about 50 really great pictures. These three were my favorite out of the bunch, which is why I decided to share. I really didn't mess to much with editing on these pictures. I just love how naturally beautiful she is and didn't want to mess with it!

The birth of Bethany Kay Photography
Welcome!!!!! I decided to setup a blog for my website so I had another place more accessible for the online community other than Facebook. Plus, it gives me a more personal way to show off my work and let the photographs shine!
I am not a professional by any means. I have been photographing things since as far back as I can remember. It started with my hobby in weather and storm chasing. I loved to take pictures of the clouds, sky, and severe storms. It has since blossomed into more after having children of my own. I now love to take photographs of them at their best, and worst times, to cherish those moments forever.
A family member asked me to take pictures for their wedding, and after that the rest is history. My first wedding photo shoot was for my brother and his new wife. I took pictures from start to finish. From the wedding rehearsal to the reception. I also did a full video service for them as well, and made that my gift to them. I put it together in movie format, and they will be able to enjoy it for the rest of their lives.
After their daughter became a bit older, they asked if I would take her birthday portraits. I also began taking my own children's birthday pictures and allowing them to think up ideas and help expand their minds. My daughter is a natural poser, and loves to be in front of the camera. I have since taken multiple family portraits, kid shots, as well as pet photography. I am scheduled for a wedding in December, and excited to bring my talents more to the front!
A background of me! I am 29 and live in Ida Grove, Iowa. I am married to my husband Ryan. We have been together for 11 years and married for 9 of those years. We have two children, our son Damon will be 9 in December and our daughter Liliann just turned 7 in August. We also have two cats, Sway who turned 10 in December, and our newest member, Prima who will be a year old in January. I am currently attending the University of Phoenix for Health Care Administration and Electronic Medical Records. I am due to graduate next fall. My husband is employed by Gomaco as a industrial painter.
